Art Lessons For Grades k-12

Othels Art Academy provides professionally taught art lessons for children in Grades k-12 designed to teach art concepts that introduce art elements and techniques from basic to advanced. All art lessons at Othels Art Academy are taught by certified and experienced art teachers in a fun, exciting, clean and relaxed environment. Our structured curriculum based art lessons are meant to enable and improve your child’s artistic abilities and help them to draw upon skills necessary to become stronger artist, thinkers and learners.

Art lessons at Othels Art Academy give every student the opportunity to explore their creativity using graphite, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, colored pencils, inks, and other artistic media while working on canvas and a variety of art papers and surfaces; while obtaining a greater understanding of art. The learning experience needed for your young artist will be fulfilled through the teaching of proper techniques and fundamentals that will continuously help them apply a creative approach into their academic and everyday life.

Art lessons run month to month, year-round, with hour-long, once-a-week lessons. Enrollment is open 365 days year, with new curriculums beginning at the start of each month. Art lessons monthly tuition cost is only $165 per month with a new student enrollment fee of $30. All supplies and materials are provided.

CLASS STRUCTURES

k-3rd & 4th-7th Grade
Students progress through an established, step-by-step monthly curriculum together as a class. Each month’s curriculum follows an organized instructional sequence that builds strong artistic fundamentals while continuously developing technical skills and artistic ability. As students advance to the next grade group, curriculum complexity, technical expectations, and artistic challenges increase to support continued artistic growth.

8th-12th Grade
Students receive a more individualized learning experience focused on artistic growth and personal creative development. Students work at their own pace while exploring their artistic interests, selecting subject matter, artistic styles, and mediums that reflect their individual goals. Throughout each project, instructors provide professional instruction, technical guidance, and constructive feedback to support continued artistic growth.

AUTHENTIC STUDENT WORK

Instructors are not permitted to draw, paint, alter, or complete a student’s artwork at any time. All student artwork completed at Othels Art Academy  is 100% student created.

Finished artwork should not be evaluated solely on perfection or technical accuracy. Student effort, participation, instructional understanding, artistic growth, and continued development are considered important parts of the educational process. Imperfections, developing technical ability, and unfinished areas may naturally occur throughout student artwork and are considered normal parts of artistic learning and progression.
