As a parent there are always a lot of questions when putting your child in an activity to better their advancement in that field. Below are the most frequently asked questions from parents who enroll their child in art lessons here at Othels Art Gallery & School of Art. ART LESSON FAQ’S

 

Q: WHAT IS THE CURRICULUM TAUGHT DURING ART LESSONS?
A: Each art lessons curriculum is different and is built by our teachers. Our main focus is the improvement of skill building, understanding and technique growth in drawing and painting.

Q: WHO ARE THE ART TEACHERS?
A: We take great pride in our art teachers. We only want the best for our students, so we only have the best art teachers. To learn more about our teachers (names, short bio, education) please click here or on the teachers page under the art lessons tab.

Q: WILL MY CHILD ONLY LEARN DRAWING AND PAINTING DURING ART LESSONS?
A: No. Although drawing and painting is our main focus during each month your child will be taught in and experience different mediums from oil pastels, chalk pastels, colored pencils, pens, watercolors, markers, etc. depending on the months curriculum.

Q: DO WE NEED TO BRING ANY ART SUPPLIES TO ART LESSONS?
A: You will never need to provide any art supplies, utensils or materials to art lessons, as everything is included.

Q: IS THE ENROLLMENT FEE A ONE TIME FEE?
A: The enrollment fee is for new students only and helps get your child enrolled in art lessons and all information set up in our systems. The enrollment fee is a one time fee, unless your child does not attend art lessons for three consecutive months, which they will then be considered a new student and the enrollment fee will be applied again once they return to art lessons.

Q: HOW DO I MAKE CHANGES ON MY CHILD’S ART LESSONS ACCOUNT?

Q: ARE ART LESSONS ONLY DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR?
A: No. We run art lessons year round.

Q: WHEN IS MY CHILDS MONTHLY ART LESSONS TUITION PAID?
A: Monthly art lessons tuition is set up through recurring payments. Each month your childs monthly art lessons tuition will be billed through recurring and paid on the date set up on your recurring payments form. Recurring art lessons tuition can be paid on any day from the 1st through the 10th of each month.

Q: HOW DO THE MONTH TO MONTH ART LESSONS WORK?
A: Art lessons are month to month. There is no long term commitment required. You are able to take time off or cancel art lessons for any reason.

Q: ARE THERE MAKE UP ART LESSONS OFFERED?
A: Yes. We provide one makeup art lesson per student each month for any art lesson(s) missed. The makeup art lesson is on the second Saturday of each month from 12pm-1pm unless otherwise stated on the sign up sheet. You must sign up in the office hallway before the end of the month for your child to attend the makeup art lesson which will be on the following month the art lesson(s) were missed. Art lesson(s) falling on or during a holiday closing or that are canceled following the Fulton County School District closings due to weather circumstances are not eligible for a makeup art lesson. Makeup art lesson must be attended for the appropriate month missed and does not credit or carry over to other months.

Q: WHAT IS THE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR ART LESSONS?
A: The holiday schedule for art lessons can be found on every page except the home page on othelsart.com for the full year of holiday closings. Please note: Othels Art always follows the
Fulton County School District closings due to inclement weather circumstances.

Q: WHEN SHOULD I DROP OFF AND PICK UP MY CHILD FOR ART LESSONS?
A: We ask that you do not have your child arrive any sooner than 15 minutes before their art lesson starts and that you pick your child up no later than 10 minutes after their art lesson ends. You are always more than welcome to wait in the lobby, watch tv, read magazines, enjoy the fish tank and use our free wi-fi.

Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE MY CHILD TO BECOME A BETTER ARTIST?
A: While each childs artistic abilities and studying practices are different, six to eight months in our art lessons program you will see an amazing difference in their art thinking, understanding and techniques. Remember to encourage your child to practice drawing at home in their spare time. Constant practice is the only way your child advance sooner.

Q: MY SCHEDULE HAS CHANGED. CAN I SWITCH MY CHILDS ART LESSONS DAY AND TIME?
A: Yes. You may change your childs art lessons schedule by visiting the account changes page under the enroll tab, or click here. Changes will take effect the following month.
